The Denison offense exploded for 12 goals in the second half, spurring a 19-6 victory over Oberlin College which keeps the Big Red in the hunt for a North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament berth.  With one conference game remaining on their schedule, this Saturday (April 25) at Allegheny, Denison needs a victory to remain eligible for postseason play.

The Big Red got three goals and one assist from freshman Molly Sbrega (Portland, Maine/Deering) and two goals apiece from Sara Langsam (Philadelphia, Pa./Germantown Friends), Michelle Bennett (Bronx, N.Y./Taft), Megan Lafferty (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier) and Lindsay Howard (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest).  First-year Carly Tschantz (Omaha, Neb./New Trier[Ill.]) finished with a game-high five draws, three ground balls while scoring once off a free-position attempt in the second half.

Denison outshot the Yeowomen 36-16 and gobbled up 23 ground balls while committing just 13 turnovers.  DU won 17-of-28 draws and senior goalie Amanda Wilson (Hudson, Ohio/Western Reserve) posted four saves in the cage.

After taking a 7-4 lead into halftime, Denison scored two quick goals to extend the lead to 9-4.  Oberlin countered with an Ariel Schuster goal with just over 18 minutes to play but one minute later, Langsam's first goal of the game would spark a nine-goal streak for the Big Red that would last until there was just four minutes left in the game.

The win improves Denison's record to 5-7 overall and they are now 2-3 in the NCAC.
