DateMarch 29, 2009
LocationSEWANEE, Tenn.

Nine different Denison players got in the scoring column but Sewanee took advantage of a 13 minute second half scoring drought resulting in a 14-13 victory for the Tigers from Sewanee, Tenn.

Denison held an 8-7 lead at the half and would push their lead to 12-9 with 14 minutes to play.  That's when the Tigers hit their stride, scoring five of the next six goals to jump into the lead.  Trailing by two at 14-12 with one minute to play, the Big Red cut the lead to one but failed to force overtime.

Sara Langsam led the team in points with one goal and four assists.  Lindsay Howard (Lake Forset, Ill./Lake Forest), Alex Thurner (Cincinnati, Ohio/Summit Country Day), Lulu Carter (Greenwich, Conn./The Millbrook School) and Jenny Strathern (Worthington, ohio/Thomas Worthington) all scored two goals for DU.  Senior goalie Amanda Wilson finished with 11 saves for Denison, who falls to 3-2 on the year.

They will be back in action on Thursday (April 2) when they host Kenyon College at 4:30 p.m.  A live audio broadcast of that game will be provided by the Denison Sports Network through Teamline.
