Five Earn Women's Lacrosse All-Region Honors

The Denison women's lacrosse team landed five players on the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association All-West Region team. Headlining the list was a pair of first-team selections in seniors Lindsay Buhr (Manhassett, N.Y./Manhassett) and Krissy Frost (Wilton, Conn/Wilton). Buhr, the North Coast Athletic Conference's Defensive Player of the Year, led the conference in ground balls (3.7 per game) and was fourth in caused turnovers (1.7 per game). Frost, the NCAC's Offensive Player of the Year, scored a career-high 49 goals and added eight assists to average 4.07 points per game which ranked her fourth in the NCAC scoring race. She is a four-time All-NCAC selection and was the NCAC Newcomer of the Year in 2004. She scored 135 goals in 56 career contests for the Big Red. Earning second-team all-region accolades was senior goalie Carolyn Hicks (Gates Mills, Ohio/Hawken School), junior midfielder Quinn Simmons (Medina, Ohio/Medina) and junior attack Meg Wilcox (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley). Hicks, a four-year starter in goal for Denison, recorded a career-high 189 saves in 2007 running her career total for saves to 661. She posted a .524 save percentage this season and was a first-team All-NCAC pick. Simmons tallied 39 goals and had 37 draw controls and was named to her third consecutive all-conference team. Wilcox rounded out the list after posting 32 goals and eight assists in her second year of lacrosse at Denison.
