Location: GRANVILLE

On the heels of Saturday's double-overtime win over then first-place Wooster, Denison kept the positive momentum flowing on Sunday in a 19-5 win over visiting Sewanee.

Denison turned up the offensive pressure early, scoring seven unanswered goals in the first 12 minutes of play.  The Big Red would close out the first half with eight more goals, taking a 16-2 lead into the intermission.

Nearly everyone got into the scoring act for DU as 12 different players accounted for the Big Red's 19 goals.  Senior Quinn Simmons (Medina, Ohio/Medina) ran her season total to 31 thanks to her hat-trick.  Lindsay Howard (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest), Phoebe Myhrum (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shady Side Academy), Kelly Vogt (Gates Mills, Ohio/Hawken), Sara Langsam (Philadelphia, Pa./Germantown Friends) and Jenny Strathern (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) all scored two goals apiece for the Big Red.

Denison only needed 27 shots to score their 19 goals.  The Big Red also dominated the draws, taking 18 of 26.  Junior goalie Amanda Wilson (Hudson, Ohio/Western Reserve) turned in a fine performance, holding Sewanee to just five goals while recording nine saves.

Denison is 5-7 overall and will host Wittenberg on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in potentially their final home contest of the season.  The regular season is scheduled to wrap-up next Saturday (April 26) at Ohio Wesleyan.  The North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament will be held on May 2-3 at the site of the top-seeded team.
