After setting a new Denison school record in the pole vault, junior Emily Hammeren (Olmsted Falls, Ohio/Olmsted Falls) was named North Coast Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week.

Hammeren cleared 10'6" at the Kenyon College Invitational last weekend in Gambier, Ohio. The junior's mark broke the Big Red record of 10'5" set by Amanda Wieland back in 2001. Hammeren finished third in the event and tied the best mark in the conference this season.

Hammeren and the Denison outdoor track & field team hosts the Big Red Invitational at Deeds Field-Piper Stadium on Friday afternoon in Granville.
