Women's Outdoor Track & Field: Navarre named NCAC Athlete of the Week

Coming off an impressive victory at the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, N.C., Denison sophomore Katie Navarre (Upper Arlington, Ohio/Upper Arlington) was named North Coast Athletic Conference distance runner of the week.
In a meet hosted by North Carolina State University and featured athletes from Divisions I, II and III, Navarre was the first of 20 competitors to cross the line in the 10,000-meter run. The sophomore distance runner set the pace with a time of 35:16.91, almost five seconds faster then the runner up.
In addition to the win, Navarre's time set a new Denison school record which was set back in 2007 by Elaine Brinkly (36:52.45). The Upper Arlington, Ohio native also automatically qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships with her record setting time.
