Women's Outdoor Track & Field: Big Red compete at Washington & Jefferson Invite

The Denison's women's outdoor track & field team competed in the Washington & Jefferson Invitational on Saturday afternoon in Washington, Pa. The Big Red finished 10th of 13 teams with 23 tallies.

First-year Alesha Stewart (Houma, La./La. School for Math, Science & Art ) led Denison with a third-place finish in the 100-meter dash. Stewart crossed the line in 13.19. Sophomore Ashley Putnam (North East, Pa./North East) finished fourth in the 800-meter run with a mark of 2:25.16 while teammate Anelia Mutafova (Canton, Ohio/Jackson) took ninth in the event with a time of 2:29.59.

Junior Kelsey Pence (Columbus, Ind./Columbus North) notched a fifth-place finish in the 5,000-meter run recording a time of 20:05.02 while rookie Ashlee Dickson (Circleville, Ohio/Logan Elm) took 10th in the pole vault with a clear of 6-11.75.

DU returns to action on April 11 when they travel to the Division III All-Ohio Championships hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University.
