Big Red Women Compete at Wooster Track and Field Invitational

The Big Red women's track and field team took part in the 2005 Wooster Invitational on Saturday. Denison was led by a pair of first place finishes by Kim Murley (Dalton, Pa./Tunkhannock) in the 1,500 meters and Elaine Binkley (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Watterson) in the 5,000 meters. Murley won the 1,500 by over 10 seconds, crossing in 5:00.41 ahead of Wooster's Katie Wieferich. Binkley had to defeat teammate Jessica Holder (Dover, Ohio/Dover) to win the 5,000 meters. Two second-place finishes were recorded by Erin Davidson (Philadelphia, Pa./Bensalem) in the 400 meter hurdles and Christiana Glenn (Weston, Mass./Weston) in the 800 meters. Davidson took second with a time of 1:11.73 and Glenn checked in with a showing of 2:37.82. Rounding out the top finishes for Denison was Maggie Hopf (Genesseo, N.Y./Central) and Sara Cahill (Dover, Ohio/Dover) who placed sixth and seventh, respectively in the 400 meter dash.
