Freshman impressive in women's Rose-Hulman meet

The Denison women's outdoor season kicked off this past weekend in an unscored meet at Rose-Hulman. The Big Red got impressive performances out of a trio of freshman in Laura Wolgamott (Loudonville, OH/Loudonville), Ashley Putnam (North East, Pa./North East) and Brooke Boening (Harpers Ferry, W.Va./Jefferson).
Wolgamott won the 400 meter hurdles in a time of 1:11.17 and took fourth in the 100 meter hurdles in 17.04 seconds. Putnam took second in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:23, while Boening took second in the 5000 meter run in 19:01.
Junior Amanda Conley (Dublin, OH/Columbus Academy) was equally impressive in the sprints. Conley took second in the 200 meter dash with a time of 28.69 seconds and finished third in the 100 meter dash.
The Big Red will return to action this weekend when they travel to Wooster for a meet on Saturday.
