Women's Outdoor Track & Field: Navarre takes 5th in 5K at NCAA Championships
After a program best sixth-place mark in the 10K on Thursday evening, Denison sophomore Katie Navarre completed her performance at the 2009 NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship by finishing fifth out of 17 athletes in the 5,000 meter run on Saturday afternoon at Don Drumm Stadium in Marietta, Ohio.

Women's Outdoor Track & Field: Navarre places 6th in the 10K at NCAA Championship
Denison sophomore Katie Navarre competed in the women's 10,000 meters at the 2009 NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship on Thursday night in Marietta, Ohio and placed sixth out of 17 runners in the event. It marked the best finish by a Denison female in the history of the NCAA Outoor Championships.

After a stellar sophomore season which saw her place ninth at the NCAA Cross Country Championships and win the 2009 North Coast Athletic Conference Distance Runner of the Year award, Katie Navarre is set to compete against the nation's best this weekend at the 2009 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Sophomore runner Katie Navarre was named the 2009 North Coast Athletic Conference Distance Athlete of the Year after winning the 10,000 meters and the 5,000 meters at the two-day NCAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships from Delaware, Ohio.

Sophomore Katie Navarre took first place in the women's 10,000 meter run and set a new North Coast Athletic Conference record in the process to highlight the first day of competition for the Denison Big Red at the NCAC Championship from Ohio Wesleyan University.

Women's Outdoor Track & Field: Putnam and Hammeren pace DU at Big Red Invite
Sophomore Ashley Putnam and junior Emily Hammeren each posted victories to pace Denison at the Big Red Invitational on Friday afternoon in Granville. Putnam took first in the 800-meter run while Hammeren was victorious in the pole vault.

Dedication ceremony planned in memory of former track & field coach Bob Shannon
On Friday, April 24th at 7 p.m., as part of the Big Red Track & Field Invitational, a plaque will be dedicated in honor of former head track and field coach Bob Shannon who passed away last April.

Women's Track & Field: Pair of school records fall at Kenyon Invitational
The Denison women's outdoor track and field team competed at the Kenyon Invitational on Saturday and finished in eighth place overall. Ashley Putnam and Kirby Mosenthal led the Big Red with second-place finishes.

Women's Outdoor Track & Field: Division III All-Ohio Results
Sophomore Katie Navarre led the Denison women's outdoor track & field team with a victory in the 10,000 meter run at the Division III All-Ohio Championships hosted by Ohio Wesleyan Univesrity on Saturday. The Big Red finished the event 16th in the 18-team field.

The Denison's women's outdoor track & field team competed in the Washington & Jefferson Invitational on Saturday afternoon in Washington, Pa. The Big Red finished 10th of 13 teams with 23 tallies.
