Women's Outdoor Track & Field: Results from Big Red Invitaitonal

The Denison women's outdoor track and field team captured first place in five events on Friday night at the Big Red Invitational held at Deeds Field-Piper Stadium.
Freshman Brooke Boening took first place in the women's 3,000 meters with her time of 10:56.68. Senior Brittany Cerankosky followed in fourth place in the 3K with a time of 11:23.47.
Another win came from freshman Ashley Putnam in the 800 meters who crossed the finish in 2:22.67.
In field events, sophomore Emily Hammeren cleared 9'6" in the pole vault to defeat Wooster's Ali Drushal who topped out at 9'0". Claire Navarro won the long jump with a distance of 16'00.50" and placed third in the 200 meter dash with a time of 28.17.
Emily Handelman was the runner-up in the discus and Emily Taylor placed second in the shot put. Rounding out Denison's top performers was Amanda Conley and Maggie Snyder who both placed second in the 100 meter dash and the 400 meter dash, respectively.
This marked the first outdoor meet hosted by Denison University since 1999.
