Women's Outdoor Track & Field: Results from Wooster Invitational

In their second meet of the spring season the Denison women posted 13 top-eight finishes at the Wooster Invitational.  

Denison's top finish came from Kelsey Pence (Columbus, Ind./North) in the 5,000 meters.  The junior logged a time of 19:38.63 finishing just in front of teammate Katie Navarre (Upper Arlington, Ohio/Upper Arlington).  A third-place finish also went to sophomore Emily Hammeren (Olmsted Falls, Ohio/Olmsted Falls) in the pole vault after she cleared 9'0.25". 

 DU earned 12 points in the 3000 meter steeplechase thanks to three, top-six performances.  Kirby Mosenthal (Briarcliff, N.Y./Briarcliff) led the Denison trio with a time of 12:47.25.  Kathryn McDonnell (Beverly Hills, Mich./Marian) followed in 12:54.15 and Stephanie Dallas (Pepper Pike, Ohio/Orange) placed sixth in 13:06.31.

In the shot put Emily Taylor (Columbus, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) placed sixth and Emily Handelman (Rochester, N.Y./Penfield) was eighth.  In the 800 meters freshman Ashley Putnam (North East, Pa./North East) placed third out of 33 runners with a time of 2:28.54.

Putnam and Brooke Boening placed sixth and seventh in the 1,500 meters.  Putnam finished in 5:15.08 and Boening was just a hair behind, crossing in 5:15.14.

The 100 meter dash saw Amanda Conley (Dublin, Ohio/Columbus Academy) place fifth and Handelman rounded out the top finishers for Denison with an eighth place showing in the discus.
