The Denison University women's outdoor track and field team sent a limited squad to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology for their annual William Welch Invitational on Saturday. Denison got a pair of first place finishes from juniors Kim Murley (Dalton, Pa./Tunkhannock) and Amanda Klinger (Toledo, Ohio/Notre Dame Academy) to lead the way for Denison at the two-team event. Murley won the 1500 and 800 meter runs with times of 4:45.12 and 2:17.73, respectively. Klinger won her two sprint events, taking first in the 100 and 200 meter dashes. Junior Brie Jacquette (McKees Rocks, Pa./Montour) won the 100 meter hurdles in 16.25 while placing third in the 200 meter dash and second in the pole vault. Kelly Jones (Richmond, Va./Tucker) turned in a runner-up performance in the 5,000 meters crossing the finish line in 20:42.13. Courtney Alexander (Westfield, Ind./Westfield) was second in the 400 meter dash and Ann Walker came in second in the 400 meter hurdles. In the field events, Leslie Kreinberg (Pepper Pike, Ohio/Orange) won the high jump by clearing 4'9 ¾". Denison's next event will be next Saturday, April 2, at the Wooster Invitational.
