The Big Red women's outdoor track and field squad finished up the two-day North Coast Athletic Conference Championship in sixth place with a total of 48.5 points. Senior Christine Collins led DU with a second-place finish in the women's 3,000 meter steeplechase as she crossed the finish line in 11:34.94. Fellow seniors Elaine Binkley and Ashley Albrecht turned in third place performances in their respective events. Binkley took the bronze in the 5,000 meters with a time of 18:26.54. Albrecht came in third with a time of 39:46.62 in the 10,000 meters. Denison was also helped by Kelsey Pence who logged a time of 41:07.66 in the 10K, good for a sixth place finish. In the pole vault, freshman Emily Hammeren cleared 9' 5.75" to place third. Another freshman field event standout is Emily Handelman who turned in a fifth place showing in the discus and a seventh place finish in the hammer throw. Handelman charted a distance of 107'9" in the discus and covered 101'2" in the hammer. A fifth place finish went to Emily Taylor in the shot put with a throw of 35'1.75" and in the relays, the 4x400 and 4x100 teams placed sixth.
