After a scoreless first half of play, Otterbein scored a pair of quick goals en route to a 3-1 victory over the 21st-ranked Denison women's soccer team on Wednesday in Westerville.

The two rivals were in a defensive battle throughout the opening 45 minutes of play.

At the 64:32 mark, the Big Red's Anna Rusch (Washington, D.C./Sidwell Friends School) scored a goal off a Laura Kuehn (Upper Arlington, Ohio/Upper Arlington) helper, cutting the Otterbein deficit in half, 2-1.

Lindsey Rudibaugh tallied another goal for the Cardinals in the 69th minute to put Otterbein up 3-1. Rudibaugh's score came off a header by Sharbough at the top of the box.

DU outshot the Cardinals 8-7, however five of Otterbein's shots were on goal. Big Red goalkeepers Courtney Cobb (Sylvania, Ohio/St. Ursula Academy) and Kerrigan Dopp (McLean, Va./McLean School of Md.) combined for two saves while Tara Carter stopped one shot for OC.

Denison falls to 4-2 on the season while Otterbein improves to 4-0-1. The Big Red returns to action Saturday (Sept. 20) when they host Carnegie Mellon at 1:00 p.m.
