Softball: Five earn All-NCAC honors, Ozbun named Coach of the Year
The Denison softball team landed five on the 2009 North Coast Athletic Conference all-conference teams and head coach Tiffany Ozbun was honored as NCAC Coach of the Year after capturing the program's sixth conference regular season crown.

The top-seeded Denison softball team bowed out of the 2009 North Coast Athletic Conference Softball Championship Tournament following a 2-1 loss to the third-seeded Allegheny College Gators in the first elimination game on Saturday afternoon in Granville.

Softball: OWU overcomes Denison's seven-run rally
Ohio Wesleyan University plated three sixth inning runs to counter a seven-run rally in the fifth by Denison University. The Battling Bishops edged the Big Red 10-9 in game two of the 2009 North Coast Athletic Conference Softball Championship Tournament on a soggy Friday afternoon.

Softball: Yellow Jackets sweep Big Red in regular season finale
Heading into conference tournament weekend, the Defiance College Yellow Jackets took two from the Denison softball team on Monday afternoon in Granville. The Yellow Jackets took game one 9-2 and edged the Big Red in the nightcap 4-3.

Softball: Big Red win sixth NCAC regular season crown with split at Hiram
For the third time in the last four season and the sixth time in the program's 12 year history, the Denison University softball team has captured the North Coast Athletic Conference regular season title. The Big Red won the crown with a 5-1 win in the opening game at Hiram College. The Terriers took the nightcap 7-5.

Softball: Denison and OWU split pivotal NCAC twinbill
With less then a week left in the season and the North Coast Athletic Conference regular season title still up for grabs the Denison softball team split a key league doubleheader with Ohio Wesleyan University on Thursday in Granville. The Big Red pulled out a 3-2 win in the opener and suffered a 3-0 setback in game two.

Due to the threat of inclement weather Wednesday's North Coast Athletic Conference softball doubleheader against Ohio Wesleyan University has been postponed and rescheduled Thursday. First pitch from Granville have been moved up to 3 p.m.

Softball: Big Red totals 24 runs in sweep of Oberlin
Brie Berkopec hit three home runs and the Big Red pounded out 24 runs off 36 hits which resulted in a pair of 12-0 victories for Denison against Oberlin College on Saturday afternoon.

Softball: Big Red dominant in sweep at Case Western Reserve
The Denison softball team continued their winning ways with a doubleheader sweep at Case Western Reserve University on Wednesday afternoon in Cleveland, Ohio. The Big Red won the opener 9-3 and completed the sweep with an 11-2 victory in the second game.

Denison University will serve as the host for the 2009 NCAC Softball Championship Tournament on Friday, May 1 through Sunday, May 3.  Denison, Hiram, Allegheny and Ohio Wesleyan will compete in a double elimination format tournament to decide which conference school will receive the conference's automatic qualifying bid to the 2009 NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.
