Women's Swimming & Diving: Denison Tops three squads in Michigan
Kathy Faingold won the 200 breastroke on Friday night and reached an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 2:26.67 in the event.

The Denison women's swimming and diving squad totaled 613 points to outdistance Calvin, Wayne State and Olivet in a quad-meet from Ypsilanti, Mich. on Friday night.
The Big Red notched six, first-place performances on the night and Kathy Faingold (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) posted an NCAA provisional qualifying time in the 200 breststroke to highlight the evening's performances.
Faingold's time of 2:26.67 was enough to win the event and keep her in front of second-place, Emily Roberts of Calvin College.
The Big Red's other NCAA provisional time came in the first event of the night, the 400 medley relay. The team that was made up of Bethany Sabourin (Troy, Mich./Troy Athens), Faingold, Olivia Zaleski (Corry, Pa./Corry Area) and Kristen Hohl (Winfield, Ill./Wheaton North) won with a time of 3:59.85. The relay team prevailed in every split and won the event by over five seconds.
Zaleski, Hohl and Sabourin would all return with individual victories and this time, with sophomore Kate Rich (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township), a victory in the 400 freestyle relay.
Zaleski took first in the 50 free in 24.90 seconds. Hohl won the 100 free in 53.75 seconds and Sabourin took the 200 backstorke in 2:11.65.
Sophomore Laura Menard (Mukilteo, Wash./Kamiak) posted two, third-place finishes in the 1000 and 500 freestyle events. Junior freestyler Annamarie Novinger (Longmont, Colo./Niwot) was second in the 200 free in 1:57.48. Christine Wissink (Cortland, N.Y./Cortland) and Kacey Centrella (Douglassville, Pa./Boyertown Area) took second and third, respectively in the 200 fly and freshman Samantha Salas came in third with 208.42 points in the women's one-meter dive.
The Big Red will host Division II, Ashland University on Friday, Nov. 16.
