Women's Tennis: Denison blanks Fighting Scots

Denison improved to 11-6 following a 9-0 rout of The College of Wooster on Monday night from the Mitchell Center in Granville, Ohio.  

Senior Kendra Murray (Kirkwood, Mo./Kirkwood) handed Brenna Hart a 6-0, 6-0 loss at No. 2 singles and Erin Chadwell (Chicago, Ill./Traverse City Central) was a 6-1, 6-0 winner over Ashley Stockwell at first singles.  Freshman Kate Westenberger (York, Pa./Dallastown) teamed with senior Meghan Damico (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) for an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles.  Westenberger returned for a 6-2, 6-0 win at third singles, upping her season record to 6-0.

Rounding out the singles wins were junior Maggie Colvin (Pepper Pike, Ohio/Orange), and first-year's Elizabeth Emhardt (Carmel, Ind./Park Tudor School) and Courtney Steiner (Fishers, Ind./Heritage Christian).

Denison will return to the court on Saturday (April 25) at the 2009 North Coast Athletic Conference Championship hosted by Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio.
