Women's Tennis: Big Red brings home seventh consecutive NCAC title

The Denison women's tennis team cruised to a 5-0 victory over nationally ranked Kenyon College in the title match of the 2008 North Coast Athletic Conference tournament on Saturday in Oberlin, Ohio.  Denison did not lose a point as they rolled to victories over Wooster, Oberlin and Kenyon to capture their seventh consecutive and eighth conference title, overall.

The No. 5 Big Red received singles wins from Kristen Cobb at second singles and Kara Zdanowski in the fourth singles flight.  Cobb topped regionally ranked Meredith Brown, 6-0, 6-0 and Zdanowski dispatched Eva Ceja 6-1, 6-0.

In doubles play, Cobb and Marta Drane handled Prita Kidder and Brown, 8-1 while Meghan Damico and Kendra Murray topped Paige MacDonald and Alexis Marino, 8-2.  The third flight doubles team of Zdanowski and Erin Gorsich came away with an 8-3 win.
