Volleyball: Big Red snaps skid against Earlham

The Denison volleyball team halted a five match losing streak with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-17) victory over North Coast Athletic Conference foe Earlham College on Tuesday night. The Big Red improved to 7-16 overall and 4-7 in the league with the win.
The predominately young DU squad was led by first-year Lauren Strowder (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Cleveland Heights) who hammered nine kills on the night. Setters Ali Trotter (Cincinnati, Ohio/Turpin) and Claire Koneval (Solon, Ohio/Solon) combined for 28 assists. The defense was paced by junior Holly Leonard (Evanston, Ill./Evanston Township) with 12 digs while rookie Megan Early (Findlay, Ohio/Van Buren) stuffed three shots.
Denison returns to action on Friday (Oct. 24) when they travel to Kenyon College to take on the Ladies in NCAC action. Match time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
