Megan Early led DU with 15 kills and two blocks against Oberlin

The Big Red won their fourth consecutive match and improved to 7-7 in North Coast Athletic Conference play following a 3-1 (17-25, 25-20, 25-11, 26-24) win over Oberlin College on Wednesday night at Livingston Gymnasium.

Despite falling in the opening set, the Big Red battled back behind first-year Megan Early's (Findlay, Ohio/Van Buren) 15 kill night.  Early, who entered the night ranked second on the team in kills and was leading the squad in attack percentage was just named the NCAC Athlete of the Week after leading the Big Red to three victories last week.

Early and Sara Mason (Lakewood, Ohio/Lakewood) both added two blocks for Denison and the dig leader was Holly Leonard (Evanston, Ill./Evanston Twp.) with 25.  Senior Ali Trotter (Cincinnati, Ohio/Turpin) and freshman Claire Koneval (Solon, Ohio/Solon) totaled 49 assists from the setter position.

Prior to the match Denison seniors Trotter and Kasia Kucharski (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Ready) were honored for their four years of service to the Big Red program.  DU will close out their 2008 home schedule on Friday night when they host Wittenberg at 7 p.m.
