Volleyball: Denison falls to No. 6 Wittenberg

The Denison volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-19, 25-12, 25-18) match to sixth-ranked Wittenberg University on Friday night. The Big Red Falls to 6-12 on the season and 3-4 in North Coast Athletic Conference play.

Kasia Kucharski (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Ready) hammered seven kills to pace the Denison attack. Ali Trotter (Cincinnati, Ohio/Turpin) and Claire Koneval (Solon, Ohio/Solon) combined to hand out 23 assists. Defensively, Holly Leonard (Evanston, Ill./Evanston Township) recorded 13 digs while Megan Early (Findlay, Ohio/Van Buren) blocked two shots.

The Big Red returns to action on Saturday (Oct. 11) when they host a tri-match with the College of Wooster and Capital University. DU kicks off the day against the Fighting Scots at 11 a.m. and returns to the court to take on the Crusaders at 3 p.m. The match between Wooster and Capital will take place at 1 p.m.
