History: The design is Simulated Georgian style combined with "Hotel Moderne". Built by Gilbert Steltzer, Shorney Hall was called the New Men's Dorm until 1971 was renamed in honor of G. Herbert Shorney, member of the class of 1918 and trustee, 1929-1971. The hall houses 253 coed first-year students in single and double units.
