Incidents - General
March 25, 2008
Incident: At approximately 11:00 PM at Plum Street near King Hall, two students of color had eggs thrown at them from a passing vehicle. One student was struck by an egg. The suspect vehicle was described as a dark colored Audi and allegedly had at least two white male occupants. The driver was believed to have dark hair. Because it is unknown at this time whether the incident relates specifically to race or ethnicity, the incident is also be listed under the "Race/Ethnic Group" category of this climate watch page.
Action Taken: The students reported the incident to Campus Security and the Granville Police Department.
Status: The incident is under investigation by the Granville Police Department. Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Campus Security or the Granville Police at 587-1234.

Incident: On February 18, 2008, a male student reported to Campus Security that another male student assualted him on February 16th while he was in attendance at a party. The student reported having had a verbal argument with the assailant earlier in the evening and that the student struck him in the face without provocation.
Action Taken: Statements were collected from the two alleged parties and the reports have been submitted to the Office of Community Rights and Standards for further action.
Status: Under investigation.
Status (3/17/2008): Charges alleging violation of the student code of conduct have been filed with each student involved in the case.
