Curricular Support

47th Ohio State Treasurer, Kevin Boyce, spoke to students about programs promoting entrepreneurship in the state.

The Burton D. Morgan Program for Liberal Arts and Entrepreneurship Education supports course-related initiatives in classrooms. Education for innovation lends itself especially well to the "learning-by-doing" pedagogy that has come to characterize the college's educational methodology in recent years. Another intersection between the liberal arts and education for innovation lies in the emphasis on building connections across disciplinary lines.

The program's curriculur support initiative works in two ways:

  • Enhance existing courses by facilitating innovation-related activities, such as field trips, in-class speakers, special projects, etc.
  • Sponsor the development of new course components related to innovation and entrepreneurship.  The program funds conferences, materials and travel expenses for faculty seeking to develop innovative elements into their curriculum.
