Entrepreneurial Endeavors Workshop
The Commercial Entrepreneurship workshop will take place on January 8-13, 2012.
The goal of the workshop, called “Entrepreneurial Endeavors” is to link entrepreneurship theory with practice, studying entrepreneurial thinking and cultivating transferable entrepreneurial skills. The workshop is directed by Dr. David Przybyla, Director, Organizational Studies Certificate Program and Associate Professor, Psychology Department. Classroom work will include meetings with successful Denison alumni and will be supplemented with field trips to nearby entrepreneurial organizations.
Ultimately, the goal of this non-credit bearing workshop is to help prepare students for a range of further entrepreneurial experiences throughout their lives, from internships and jobs to civic projects and volunteer organizations. If a student’s aspirations include launching something new that creates value, she or he will benefit from participation in the on-campus workshop.
"The workshop helped me learn how to turn dreams and aspirations into reality. I learned that if you work hard enough, you can make a living doing something you love."
—Byron Hughey '09
Students will be provided housing on Denison’s campus for the week for a nominal fee of approximately $60. This fee may be waived for Pell grant recipients or others that demonstrate need. Materials for the workshop and most meals will also be provided. The workshop is free and open to 25 current Denison students. Students from all majors are encouraged to apply.
