Who are the Leadership Fellows?
A selective group of students interested in serving the Student Activities Office in a special internship capacity in the area of leadership are members of the Leadership Fellows. Leadership Fellows assist in the planning of major leadership programs and are responsible for creating new leadership-related workshops for campus organizations.
What do Leadership Fellows do?
Leadership Fellows:
- assist in planning major leadership programs like The LeaderShape Institute, Catalyst, D.U. Lead, etc.
- serve as on-site coordinator for one or more leadership programs each year
- attend the National Conference on Student Leadership in Washington, DC
- help campus groups with organizational effectiveness & training
- organize NEW leadership awards recognition ceremony
- are experts in leadership theory & applications
- work closely with Student Activities staff
Who can apply to be a Leadership Fellow?
This opportunity is available to sophomores, juniors and seniors who have a special interest in leadership. Applicants must be graduates of one or more of the following programs: The LeaderShape Institute, QUEST, Entrepreneurial Endeavors, Social Entrepreneurship Workshop, D.U. Lead, Catalyst, QBQ! or ADVANCE.
What is the time commitment & who supervises the Leadership Fellows?
Leadership Fellows serve up to two office hours per week in the Student Activities Office. Additionally, Leadership Fellows attend one Fellows meeting per week. Assistant Director of Student Activities Natalie K. Pariano supervises the Leadership Fellows.
How are Leadership Fellows selected?
Leadership Fellow applications for 2010/11 will be available online in the spring. Applicants who meet minimum requirements will have their applications reviewed by a committee. A maximum of six Fellows will be selected based on application, references and qualifications.
