What is Spark?

Spark is a new leadership program from the Office of Student Activities. Spark is facilitated by a renowned leader of Social Justice and Diversity education: Jessica Pettitt.

How can I participate in Spark?

Applications for Spark 2009 are closed.

Space is limited for this program. Participants will be invited on a rolling basis. After acceptance into the program, participants will be asked to sign a confirmation of acceptance form and submit a fully refundable deposit. This information will be provided to participants via acceptance letters. See below for more information about deposits.

Who can participate in Spark?

Any Denison student can participate in Spark.

Is there a charge to participate?

Spark is FREE to all students who are selected and attend Spark, however students must submit a refundable deposit to the Student Activities Office, 200 Slayter Union. Upon selection, applicants must submit a check made payable to Denison University in the amount of $50 to the Student Activities Office. This check will not be deposited  unless a student who accepts his or her participation in the program cancels or fails to attend Spark. Upon completion of the program, the refundable deposits will be returned to all participants. Should you have any questions about deposits or have difficulty in submitting a deposit, please email Assistant Director of Student Activities, Natalie K. Pariano.

Spark participants will also receive lunch on November 7, 2009 at no cost.

When is Spark and where is it located?

Spark will take place on November 7 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. in Lamson Lodge. Participants must be available for the entirety of the program.
