2012 DCA Service Award Recipients

Each year, the Denison Community Association and the Alford Center for Service Learning recognize the achievements of students and community partners in their passion and advocacy for service. These annual awards take place in April and honor members of faculty/staff, community partners, and students that have pursued excellence and demonstrated commitment to furthering community service endeavors. The awards presented include:

• Irene Kennedy Continued Commitment to Service Award: This award will go to an individual that embodies a vision of service that becomes a way of life.
• Debbie Miller Giving Tree Award: Awarded to the student that achieves the highest level of commitment to service during the academic year, demonstrating this commitment by garnering the largest number of service hours during the academic year.
• Volunteer of the Year Award: This award goes to a volunteer who has demonstrated a commitment to service throughout their time at Denison and goes above and beyond others in participating in service and taking on leadership in service activities.
• President's Award: This award goes to a committee that has gone above and beyond in their volunteer efforts this year, through increased participation, new or successful events, or other measures of success.
• Rookie of the Year Award: This award goes to a First-Year student who demonstrates a passion for service and involvement in the DCA above all others.
• Outstanding Sophomore Volunteer: This award goes to a Sophomore student who has demonstrated a continuing commitment to service and has gone above and beyond their peers this past year.
• Outstanding Junior Volunteer: This award goes to a Junior student who has demonstrated a continuing commitment to service and has gone above and beyond their peers this past year.
• Outstanding Agency Award: This award goes to an agency that works with a DCA committee who has has gone above and beyond in their support and has demonstrated a commitment to their committee.
• Outstanding Faculty/Staff Member Award: This award goes to a member of the Denison faculty or staff who has gone above and beyond their efforts to volunteer and support the DCA.
