Denison Companions
Lincoln Middle School is typical in that there are students who don't fit into athletics, chorus, or any of the other activities that make for mainstream experiences. That's where Companions comes in. Working with Lincoln's guidance counselor, Denison volunteers accompany otherwise unconnected students. They come to Denison every Friday for fun activities and esteem-building. The goal of the committee is to increase positive and creative thinking in the Lincoln students. Over the course of the year, the group becomes very much like a family, with all the good and challenging things that families do! These kids need almost one on one attention; so many volunteers are needed for the Friday afternoon visits.
Meeting Times: Fridays 3 -4:30 PM
