ESOL Volunteers

ESOL Volunteers work at a trade school in Newark that offers English Speakers Of another Language (ESOL) classes.  The volunteers work with adult students from around the world who now live in the U.S. and desire to learn more English. In the classroom, volunteers have the opportunity to speak to the students in small groups and help them with various exercises such as grammar, writing, and learning about different aspects of American culture.  Speaking another language is not a requirement as the ultimate goal is encouraging the students to learn more English.

Meeting Times: Contact chairs for meeting times.

Groups of two rotate every other week. If the group does not have their own transportation, it is necessary to obtain your defensive drivers license.
