Habitat for Humanity
The Denison chapter of Habitat for Humanity works with the international organization in its mission to alleviate homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter accessible to people of all backgrounds, races and religions. Our volunteers are involved in local renovation and building, as well as a winter break work trip, and work in partnership with the families in need.
Gain exposure to a great organization by working beside volunteers and homeowners, learning about construction, and using our muscles! We are looking for volunteers who are committed, caring, patient, willing to work as part of a team, and excited about Habitat.
"Habitat has shown me that there is something you can do to make a difference in someone's life. You can't change the world but you can change a life." -Habitat volunteer
"Going on the spring break trip with Habitat for Humanity was seriously one of the most fun, rewarding experiences I have had so far at Denison. This trip gave me an opportunity to help in a way I never thought I could and to meet and bond with some extremely awesome people." --Habitat volunteer
This fall, Habitat will be actively renovating houses in the neighboring city of Newark. Students will be able to volunteer during morning or afternoon shifts on Saturdays, weather permitting. If you would like to get involved or learn about Habitat , please contact one of the chairs listed below.
