Hospice is committed to preserving the quality and dignity of life by offering physical and emotional care based on the highest standards. We are dedicated to supporting choice in the lives of our patients and families. Volunteers work at the inpatient unit at Licking Memorial Hospital to staff the volunteer desk, talk with patients and families, and simply provide a listening ear or comforting presence for someone in need. Working at the administrative offices or on group projects is also an option for those less inclined to work in a hospital setting.

Volunteers also have the opportunity to be trained to visit patients in their homes as an "in-home companion." There a volunteer would assist families with the patient's needs or simply give the patient company while relieving the family. Further volunteer opportunities are available as life reviewers. As a life reviewer, volunteers record a patient's life via audio recorder to preserve  their history.

Three day training necessary to volunteer. Training dates:
September 30th, 6-8 pm.
October 7th, 6-8 pm.
October 27th, 6-9 pm.

Initial meeting with more information: September 18th, 8pm in Slayter.
