Salvation Army
Denison volunteers work with girls who are twelve to sixteen years old in the Salvation Army’s Power for Life after-school program several afternoons each week. Volunteers work closely with the girls in the program, participating in activities like roller skating, swimming, bowling, and crafts as well as assisting with homework and acting as positive role models. The committee also takes leftover food from Curtis and Huffman dining halls to the Salvation Army, as well as helping to host community dinners at its facility once a month. Volunteering with the Salvation Army is a wonderful way to help with hunger and poverty issues, as well as working with youth on a regular basis.
