John Beckman is the Associate Dean of Students/Director of Slayter Union and Student Activities at Denison University. His responsibilities include directing Slayter Union and the Student Activities Office, as well as serving as advisor to the Denison Campus Governance Association (DCGA) and RedTech Sound Production.

Prior to coming to Denison, John served as the Coordinator for Greek Affairs and Leadership Development at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. John received his BSBA in Management and Marketing from Creighton University in 1989 and his MS in Counseling from Emporia State University in May 1991.

John holds membership in the Association of Fraternity Advisors, the Association of College Unions-International, the Association of College Auxiliary Services, the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, the Ohio College Student Personnel Association, as well as being a TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) certified trainer for alcohol handling.
