A Letter from This Year’s Program Coordinators:

Dear Future D.U. Lead Participants,
Our names are Megan and Emily, and we are the 2013 D.U. Lead Program Coordinators!  It is SO exciting that you made the decision to come to Denison, and we hope that you consider engaging in leadership while you’re here!  As current students on this campus, we couldn’t be happier with our decision to embrace a liberal arts curriculum, which encourages autonomous thinking and out of the classroom learning.  D.U. Lead is a FREE 3-Day weekend program that takes place at Camp Joy in Clarksville, Ohio.  Attending this trip with your peers is an excellent way to jump right in at Denison, as it provides you with the opportunity to learn more about yourself, your peers, leadership, and Denison as an institution.  The D.U. Lead Curriculum will challenge you to Make Your Mark on campus. This prominent leadership program is one of a kind, and we view it as an amazing opportunity for first-year students to begin their journey at Denison!  We will see you in fall, and encourage you to contact us with any questions!

We look forward to reading your D.U. Lead applications!

Sincerely,

Emily Schultz ’16 (schult_e1@denison.edu)
Megan McCormick ‘15 (mccorm_m1@denison.edu)

What is D.U. Lead?

D.U. Lead is an intensive weekend institute for emerging leaders in the Denison community. Limited to a select number of first-year students, the D.U. Lead institute aims to address and develop a variety of leadership skills.

D.U. Lead is about leading with integrity and making your mark within the Denison Community to create and sustain positive change. D.U. Lead participants participate in fun, interactive activities and simulations in a lively, upbeat environment. The social change model of leadership development is the theoretical basis for this Institute. Participants work closely with 8-10 peers in small groups called clubs. Participants will be mentored by junior/senior students who serve as club facilitators.
We are happy and proud to announce our Club Advisors for the 2013-2014 D.U. Lead Institute:
