Supporting comments: "When we were introduced I was convinced she was a young alumna, not a third-year student; I make this point to exemplify Tanna's poise and maturity; by far one of the best students to contribute to our department; Tanna's enthusiasm, attentiveness and positive approach to her work separates her from the rest of the group; her focused effort with literacy agendas has brought honor for her sorority, the Greek system and Denison; her leadership impact has extended beyond the group she represents to influence the larger benefactors and participants; Tanna's special style of leadership has influenced and shaped specific communities; she is not a 'lime-light' seeking leader attempting to lead for the sake of being in charge; she has instead focused her leadership and developed her projects by staying with them and achieving more before moving to other projects; her most impressive achievement might be her work under the Pi Beta Phi 'Links to Literacy' effort; Tanna deserves a great deal of the credit for the Denison chapter's top award and recognition among all national Pi Beta Phi chapters; as Philanthropy Chair of Pi Beta Phi for the past year, she was the driving force and the contact point in planning a Christmas party for unmatched boys and girls in the Big Brothers / Big Sisters program of Licking County; for the Christmas party she brought in the members of a fraternity along with women of Pi Beta Phi and hosted a dozen children from single parent families; together the Denison women and men set a tremendous positive example for these youngsters; they played, decorated cookies, made treats and shared a movie; photographs show more than 50 young people, ages 6-22, sharing a movie in the Pi Phi house, like one large family; Tanna has shown the ability to lead her peers into new, unknown venues and partnerships; her vision led them to remarkable success and accomplishment."
