Supporting comments: "As a participant in the first Denison Outdoor Orientation program, Chris was one of the pioneers who subsequently became actively involved in moving the program forward as a member of the DOO planning committee. As both a member of the planning committee and a student trail leader, Chris proved dedicated, thoughtful, hardworking, and extremely capable. His ability to connect well with both adults and incoming students was another reason for my eagerness to see him as a member of August Orientation staff. Chris brings to his leadership positions organizational skill, a strong sense of responsibility, and a commitment to the other members of the group. In making Presbyterians at Denison the vital group it is today, Chris has helped link gown and town to the benefit of each. In a number of areas Chris has been the key initiator of the activity or organization. In other words, he exemplifies "innovating" rather than just "maintaining" leadership. This is true in his leadership role with the water polo club where he founded the club, drafted the constitution, and secured the necessary funds to get the program off the ground."
