Supporting comments: "As a Senior Fellow in the Psychology Department, Sarah has demonstrated her outstanding leadership in important departmental functions, such as colloquia, research projects, and course assistance. She is one of two student representatives on our departmental Research Approval Committee. Her leadership revitalized the Psi Chi Honorary chapter. She led the charge to increase campus-wide attendance at departmental colloquia presentations, revitalized the community service component of the organization, enhanced students' knowledge of national issues in psychology, and developed new programs within the department to service many more majors than before. She has played a key role with the Compeer Program to get students involved with one-on-one mentoring with adults from the local mental health communities and she has been highly involved with the efforts to increase literacy across the country. Active in mentoring our new and prospective students, they readily comment on her maturity level, helpfulness, and ability to clearly explain difficult concepts. She is knowledgeable, dedicated, hardworking, and patient. She accomplishes a tremendous amount and does it with grace, maturity, and confidence."
