Supporting comments: "Margie is a leader in the classroom. An excellent student who leads by example, she has helped to maintain a positive spirit among the students in Ebaugh. Margie is a personable, intelligent, dedicated, and caring individual who has served Denison and students in various capacities. The breadth and depth of Margie's leadership and service to Denison is impressive. Margie initiated changes in the accounting procedures for her sorority to improve the overall management of the system. She pursued and solved billing errors involving both the university and external vendors, addressed problems with officer budget allocations, and resolved issues with member indebtedness. Since many of the student members did not understand the importance of credit ratings she took the initiative to meet with a local bank officer and then prepared an education program on effective money management for them. She also implemented changes to the Chapter's billing system which alleviated overdue payments. In this capacity, she served as a natural leader and gained the respect of many members for taking on the detailed responsibilities of Treasurer and making significant improvements for the chapter. Secondly, Margie re-organized a dormant Women ' s Golf team. She recruited members, organized practice and game schedules, and yes, prepared a budget! She has been a giver of her time, talent, leadership, and concern for others. She is honest and genuine in her interactions with peers, faculty, and staff."
