Supporting comments: "As the Panhellenic Vice President for Recruitment, she assisted in the facilitation of revamping the sorority recruitment process. She has led workshops with each chapter on how to do values-based recruitment and the importance of working together as a Greek community during the recruitment process. Her dedication and leadership in the Greek community will leave a lasting impact. The LeaderShape graduate intern position was created this fall to allow LeaderShape graduates the opportunity to take their leadership and involvement with the Institute to the next level. Melissa was a unanimous choice and in that role was responsible in part for all aspects of institute planning. She is the kind of woman who would have sought out the same leadership opportunities without having a title behind her name. In her roles with the Panhellenic Council, Mel has not just affected positive change-- she has been driving the locomotive. She knows the importance of so many aspects of leadership - integrity, relationship building, vision, action, assessment. She is a woman who displays integrity, professionalism, responsiveness, and maturity. Rarely do I have the pleasure of glimpsing the future of a student so clearly based on their present behavior."
