Supporting comments: "Julie was hired mid-year as a Resident Advisor, and stepped into a very difficult position on her new floor. She quickly gained the trust of the residents, and completely redirected the tone of the floor. This is an incredibly difficult feat and she did it with competence and sensitivity. In her work as chair of Campus Affairs Council, Julie started important conversations about a mascot for Denison and more recently took a strong leadership position in collecting data and leading CAC and the campus in substantive discussions on the topic of academic integrity. Her commitment was always clear, her follow-up was excellent, and she imbued CAC with a sense of clear purpose that was refreshing. Her integrity and leadership within student government were fundamental in promoting positive changes within DCGA and within the Denison community at large. Highly regarded by faculty and staff, she is unquestionably a strong voice representing our students. We will miss her ingenuity, her smile, and perhaps most of all, her ability to lead with confidence and enthusiasm."
