Supporting comments: "Oliver has been a hard-working, dedicated member of the Judicial Appeals Board. He is conscientious and has often taken the role of advocate for students. I have been repeatedly impressed by his willingness to take this role even when doing so might be uncomfortable or difficult for him. At the same time, he also has the ability to be objective. He is committed to the principles that govern the council and shows excellent judgment in applying them. Oliver has been a symbol of strength here at Denison. He has been able to grow in full public view of his peers, unafraid of being challenged and being able to stand and meet those challenges head-on. I don't remember when I last saw a student who is more willing to take principled stands on political issues in public arenas where the majority of the group would have strongly-held different views. He always is willing to engage others in spirited debate and he does so in a deliberate, respectful manner."
