Supporting comments: "If you want to make it happen and happen with style, go to Julianne! Julianne is chair of Hope for Autism, DCA's largest committee with 120 members, and she herself has performed over 500 hours of service in this academic year. All combined, so far this year, the student volunteers with 'Hope' have contributed 5,048 hours of service to young children with autism and their families. In order to be sure that Hope volunteers received the best possible training, she organized the first autism conference hosted by Denison and brought staff from the Cleveland Clinic Center for Autism to address more than 100 students, and parents and professionals from the larger community. In just two years, Julianne has increased her committee's membership from 22 students to 120 students. Julianne is extensively and deeply involved across the campus and epitomizes the concept of the 'whole' student. She has always made time to serve her Denison classmates through campus governance and the community through DCA activities. A Fulbright Award winner for a neuroscience research assistantship in Sweden, there is no doubt that we will continue to hear of Julianne's good work as she enters graduate school and beyond. She will be one of Denison's alums who will make a positive mark on the world and on all those she helps."
