Supporting comments: "There is no doubt that Kim has a very successful career as a scientist or engineer ahead of her. Just this past January, she presented her work at the national meeting of the American Association of Physics Teachers in Anchorage, Alaska. Kim's leadership activities outside the classroom and research lab are numerous. She is active in the Society of Physics Students (SPS) chapter serving as co-president last year and treasurer this year. The SPS chapter was honored by the national Society of Physics Students with an 'Outstanding Chapter Award' for 2004-05, the year of Kim's presidency. This designation is reserved for the top SPS chapters in the country with about one such award per state. For the two years that Kim has been a captain, the Denison women's cross country team has had remarkable success. The women have won two All-Ohio Division III titles, have been North Coast Athletic Conference champions twice, have captured two NCAA Great Lakes Region Championships, and have qualified twice for the NCAA National Championships, with a best finish of eighth place in 2004. Kim's attitude and leadership played a significant role in this success."
