Supporting comments: "Katie has had an enormous impact as a scholar and active leader in the Communication Department. As vice president of external communication for Lambda Pi Eta Communication Honorary, she guided the organization in developing and presenting a workshop for all Denison students on public speaking anxiety. Her performance was so strong, she was asked by the Office of Academic Support and Enrichment to present on a similar topic in their Studywise Program. Further, she agreed to go into non communication classrooms and present to her peers on effective presentation skills. Katie has not only embraced the scholarship and professional commitments of Lambda Pi Eta, she has attempted to engage all communication students in the department in an inclusive and transformative manner. On the volleyball court, Katie is always supporting her teammates and encouraging them to do their best. She is unselfish and takes pride in the success of the team. Katie has a great sense of humor and knows when to be serious and when to laugh. She is a dynamic leader and good role model for other students. Katie represents Denison well and works hard to be successful in all her endeavors."
