Supporting comments: "Bright, perceptive, creative and analytical, Scott rarely travels the known path, and anyone who awaits from him a predictable answer to almost any question will find that it rarely happens. A strong leader in June-O, he challenged new students in just the right ways to help them see the process not just as the beginning of their time at Denison but as an integral part of their liberal arts education. Starting from scratch, he successfully negotiated as liaison between Heath High School and the Young Life organization in Licking County. Slowly and patiently, he made himself available for discussions, and for mentoring, until he gained the confidence of students to the point where he now has between ten to thirty young people in meetings. And he has enlisted a staff of three first-year Denison student volunteers to continue the work he started. This truly has been inspired leadership."
