Building: Homestead, 1977
History: The first Homestead cabin was begun by students in 1977 as part of an alternative living project proposed and led by Biology professor Robert W. Alrutz, 1952-1990. Housing consists of three wooden cabins with room for about 12 students. A fourth straw bale cabin built in 2001 contains a new kitchen and common study area. The Homestead is located along Rt. 661 and is approximately 250 acres.
