Tricks & Tips:

• AND between two words = FEWER results
• OR between two words = MORE results
•   * [asterisk] = any letter(s) complete the word
•   " " [quote marks] = search words as a phrase
•  ( ) [parentheses] = nest two or more search strings

Finding Images Online

• ArtSTOR
  An online database of over 400,000 images. Search by artist name (ex: Rubens) or keyword (ex: geometric). Make & keep an online personal collection.
• AP Multimedia Archive
  Photos from The Associated Press, plus graphics, text and audio.
• OhioLINK Digital Media Center
  A collection of multimedia resources pertaining to various disciplines.
• ArtNet
  A free resource that lists artists with work for sale all over the world. Includes images of all works currently for sale.

Finding Articles in Journals & Magazines

Use the Library's Subject Guides to track down relevant databases, which contain articles from magazines, journals, & newspapers.

Some basic options:

• Academic Search Complete
  A good multi-discipline database with articles from newspapers, magazines, and scholarly journals.
• Environment Complete
  A database for literature on environmental issues & environmental studies.
• Lexis Nexis
  A full text news database.
