2013 Day of Learning Call for Abstracts
The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Planning Committee invites presentation/workshop proposals from all disciplines and interdisciplinary areas, students, student groups, staff (salaried and hourly), faculty and members of surrounding communities.
Teach-ins will help our community analyze and intellectually explore topics related to this year’s theme: “MLK’s Legacy: The Courage to Create a Just World.” These sessions will also help us reflect on the spirit of Dr. King’s life and work. We are asking Denisonians and community members to engage, meaningfully, in educational spaces where the roles of teacher and learner will be exchangeable. This opportunity allows us to increase the number of venues for dialogue, active listening and community occurring on our campus. We value all types of learning in our efforts to use life experiences and academic backgrounds to frame societal phenomena.
The Committee is seeking a breadth of Teach-Ins and is particularly interested in proposals which address our theme in relation to the life, work and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Please contact arcenom@denison.edu if you have any questions.
